Three weekends ago, I hit the road and headed home to see my sister, Tawny as she competed in her first bodybuilding competition. She rocked the stage and won two first place medals in Figure Novice! Tawny managed to train for her fitness competition all while taking care of her family, working a full-time job, training clients part-time, and volunteering weekly. And she did it all with a smile!
After the competition, I asked Tawny to share a few ways her fitness journey enhanced her life overall. Here’s what she said:
Fitness Promotes Mental Health
Everybody struggles with mental insecurities. We all do, whether we want to admit it or not. Fitness can help alleviate your thoughts.
Fitness Builds Confidence
Have a bad day, go break a sweat, you’ll feel better. Working out for me is a spiritual boost. I can hear clearly from God and this helps my confidence.
Fitness Provides Balance
Life is busy but you can still find balance. Get up early and take the time to meditate and work out, or hit the gym after work. Do what best fits your lifestyle.
I left Austin inspired and ready to work on my own body goals. My boyfriend and I both desired Abs by April last winter but didn’t quite make our goal. Good thing, we had a little inspiration along the way. We’re now back on target and shooting for Abs by August!
I’ll be tightening up my waistline and building a little muscle with Tawny as my trainer. Follow and reach out to her on Instagram for your individual plan. What are some of your fitness goals? I’d love to hear what you’re toning up!
